1 Thessalonians 2:1-8 | Character Matters

Jan 25, 2026

Last week we considered the fact that one’s reputation matters because, as a Christian, your reputation says something about Jesus.

This week we will consider the fact that character should always be held in supremacy over your reputation. In other words, who you are matters more than who people think you are. This is especially true for anyone in a leadership role.

In this week’s text, the apostle Paul is going to give us a list of characteristics and motives that mark a godly leader and a list of those that do not.

So, the following questions come to mind, what kind of leader would you follow or not follow? And, if you have been given a measure of authority or influence, you are a leader, therefore, what kind of leader are you?
