Thank God for Government

Most cultures have a list of pastimes that they collectively enjoy or participate in. America is no different.

Stereotypically some of our favorite pastimes would include baseball and apple pie. It would seem, however, that another one would be complaining about the government. Politics, politicians, and policies are either loved or hated. They are debated on the news and around the watercooler.

The question for us as Christians ought to be, what does the Bible say about government and authority?

This week will explore a short but always relevant text dealing with these issues and it’s a timely reminder of the importance of drawing truth from Biblical texts as opposed to injecting opinion into Biblical texts.
