Love Means Sacrifice

This week we are embarking on our summer series that we’re calling “Lessons I Wish I had Learned in School.” This series is intended to save you, and those around you, from unnecessary pain as you learn from the example of others.

Our first lesson is simply but powerfully this, love means sacrifice. John, in his first epistle, tells that we are to love one another because God is love.

The question that must be answered is what kind of love is God? The reality is that every human being will attempt to answer that question, but only God can really tell us what kind of love He is. Once we know that, it changes everything about how we love one another.
