Living Under the Weight of Other People’s Expectations

The fear of man becomes dangerous when the opinions, approval, and expectations of people become more important to us than God.

Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.”

The answer isn’t caring less about what people think. It’s caring more about what God thinks.

When we fear God more than we fear people, we discover a freedom that human approval can never give.

The fear of man brings bondage.

The fear of the Lord brings freedom.

Whose approval are you living for?
