The Value of Doing Hard Things
We live in a broken world full of broken things and broken people. As a result, life is often hard.
The Bible doesn’t hide that truth from us. That’s why we’re so often encouraged to endure, persevere, strive, and to press forward through great effort.
However, if we’re honest, we’d have to admit that we prefer to take the easy way. But if that’s how we attempt to live this Christian life we will never learn the value of doing hard things.
The apostle Paul learned that lesson early and, in our text, he will encourage us to do likewise and become the kind of people who are willing to make progress through effort and who are willing to do hard things in pursuit of the glory of God and Christ-likeness.
