1 Thessalonians 1:4-10 | Reputation Matters

Jan 18, 2026    Pastor Doug Forman

Your reputation represents that intangible calling card that describes you to other people. It goes before you and it lingers behind you. It says something about you, but it rarely says everything about you.

Often one’s reputation represents what people want you to think about them, rather than what is actually true about them.

The Thessalonian church, however, had a powerful reputation for serving the Lord even in challenging times as a result of their evident repentance and faith.

The question becomes, what is your reputation among Christians and non-Christians? If it isn’t what you’d like it to be, what can you do to change it or make it more Christ-like?
