Romans 16:17-20 | Beware the Dangers

Doctrine can be considered the foundation of the Christian faith. It represents all that a Believer, a church, and a denomination believes about Christianity, the Gospel, and the Personhood of our great God.

This foundation needs to be protected from harmful forces that would seek to subvert the truth through deception and smooth talk.

The apostle Paul, in this week’s text, is going to warn the church in Rome against those who would come in to deceive and to use people to satisfy their own sinful appetites by attacking their foundation of truth. Likewise, we bear that same responsibility to guard the truth and the souls of those entrusted to us.
