01 The Foolishness of Fleeing from God

The nation of Israel was given a mission by God to be a light to the nations. The Church of Jesus Christ has been given a mission to be a light to the nations. Jonah represents all of those who have forsaken that grand calling and instead chosen rebellion, bitterness, or reluctant half-hearted obedience. This morning we will begin our verse by verse journey through the book of Jonah, and Lord willing, be confronted by the foolishness of trying to run from a God who is quite literally everywhere all the time and instead trade missional hesitation for enthusiastic missional engagement.
