The Ruin of Religion

Religion seems to be hardwired into the human condition. In every culture, in every era, in every corner of the earth people have sought something higher than themselves to bring meaning to life and to save them from hardship.

The one common denominator amongst them is the need for good works to prove oneself worthy, enlightened, or committed enough to be blessed. The inherent problem with religion is that it’s based on self-righteousness and that’s a target that’s impossible to hit. So, religion leads to utter ruin.

Only Jesus Christ can save and only He can provide a righteousness that comes through faith apart from our good works. The question becomes, what are you trusting in when it comes to your eternal destination?
