PASTOR OF PREACHING AND VISION
Doug and his wife Michele have been enjoying serving the Lord as the Lead Pastor of Preaching and Vision since 2010. He was saved at the age of 25 through the witness of a former co-worker and his great-aunt. Both of them challenged him to read the Bible, beginning in the Gospel of Matthew praying, "God, if you're real, prove it to me as I read these words." And prove it He did! He trusted Jesus Christ as His personal Lord and Savior in October of '95 when he finally understood the amazing truth of John 3:16...that "God so loved him that He gave His only Son for him!"
He became a member of Breesport in '97 with his wife Michele and two children; Jessica and Corey. As a family they served the Lord here in a variety of ways, and then in May of 2005 they accepted the call to become the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Youth. By June of that year he had resigned from his position at Corning, Inc. and began the newest chapter of their lives as they followed after Christ.
He is passionate about preaching and teaching the Word of God with the goal of making more and better disciples of Jesus; from the youngest to the oldest who will then follow hard after Christ. He is a certified Biblical counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. He has a passion for helping people find hope, wholeness, and healing in Christ. He loves being on staff here, as it has been a second home for his family and him for more than 26 years.
